|1.||The whole system shall be complete and consisted with the metallic rails of (W) shape, secured on steel posts that are placed on the ground. The guardrail system according to the end-use, may singe or double faced.
The use of spacers or other accessories shall be declared by the manufacturer of the approved system.
|2.||The whole guardrail system shall be of level N2 according to the requirements of EN 1317-1, EN1317-2 and EN1317-5, for the testing TB 11 and TB 32.
The crucial impact severity shall be of category Α (ASI < 1.0) and the working width W4 (W ≤ 1.3 m) maximum.
The requirements and verification procedures of compliance are specified in EN1317:5+A1:2008.
|3.||During installation the exposed over the ground till the top part of the guardrail should be 0.75m +/-0.02m high. The installation depth shall not exceed the 1m.|

The material of the guard steel beams should satisfy the requirements of AASHTO M180 Type I Class A, except the steel post that shall comply with the requirements off AASHTO M270 standards.
The galvanization of the steel guard beams and the steel post shall be performed as per ASTM A123 for the connection materials and the finished galvanized surface should satisfy the requirements of paragraph 9 of AASHTO M180 standards. The Zinc quality should be as per requirements of Paragraph 6 of AASHTO M180 standards.
